A Brief History of the “Yo bro, who got you smilin like that?” TikTok Trend/Audio
The audio mashup’s ‘official’ name on TikTok is simply “Yo”.
The sound is mainly the chorus of Loverboy by A-Wall, which you can listen to in full on YouTube, combined with a male voice saying “Yo bro, who got you smilin like that?” at the very beginning.
The sound was first posted on July 25 here, featuring a combination of the original video from @zeddywill that the voice is from, plus a bunch of clips of people grooving/having a good time.
As far as we can tell though, the audio only really took off about a week ago, around August 10, when TikTokers started to use it to showcase reasons they’re smiling (e.g. really cute animal clips).
This is one of the earliest examples we could track down of the trend, but it’s safe to say the trend has absolutely exploded since then.
In fact, some of the videos from the “Yo bro, who got you smilin like that?” trend have exceeded tens of millions of views, like this one.
